I took one last look out our Niagara Falls Hotel window, with either arm of the falls either side this giant Casino. The Niagara River was slate grey this morning and the water just tumbling over the right side of Horseshoe Falls a real glass green.
There were thankfully no issues at the airport and our transfer driver was a charming, semi-retired Republican, who took us over a different bridge back into Buffalo, with lots of commentary on the way.
We booked into The Langham Hotel, then set out to walk. The next block was a park, with a free late afternoon exercise class. Can you pick which one is me?
Lots of interesting building around, from older, more historic brick ones to shiny, modern designs.
Down at Boston Harbour, we had a déjà vu moment, as the area reminded us strongly of Constitution Dock in Hobart. I love that salty tang in the air.
It was a still evening, so the only thing missing is that metal banging from high up the masts yachts do as they sway in the water.
We walked around the area, including past Quincy Market and around Christopher Columbus Park, til we found The Times Irish Pub and Bistro just in time for dinner. Just in time, as the business closes in a few days, as the building owner wants to do what? Yep, build apartments.
It is hardly a flattering photo of me but here I am trying my first serve of Boston seafood chowder. And let me say, it was absolutely delicious.
Robert had Parmesan encrusted chicken, but notice the pile of capers he pushed to one side?
Opening our hotel door, the first thing we noticed was our curtain had been closed. The Turndown Fairies had been in our absence, turning on the lamps, leaving chocolate and a note with tomorrow!s weather forecast, plus beside each side of the bed, was a pair of slippers placed on a mat which reads, as you face the bed - Good Night - and as you arise - Good Morning.
This is the life!!
Enjoy it while you can!
