Manchester Shopping

We drove from Ambleside to Manchester today. The scenery changed dramatically but, as my eyeballs were behind my eyelids for the first part of the journey, can't really describe the change.

We decided to drop the car at the airport a day early, as Woodsie didn't fancy trying to negotiate the traffic in the city, plus the Radisson didn't have parking, and also we would be driving in the dark to airport tomorrow.
I didn't know that England regards Ireland as a FOREIGN COUNTRY. We have to be checked in, for a short flight across a small stretch of water, 2 and 1/2 hours early. Didn't plan that too well, did I?

We walked to the Manchester Apple store, where a saint named Zak explained the doo-hickey Woodsie bought for putting photos on this blog. We had to download an app, which Woodsie had done, but we never fully explored it, for fear all photos might ... who knows what.
Anyway, now I am trying the Zak Way.

All excited at the start of the trip from Amsterdam over to Scotland.

Me doing my The Hills are Alive number next to the gazebo used in the film, outside Salzburg.

This holiday caper certainly suits us.

Here we are wondering if we missed it. In the gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where the Queen holds her garden party. This photo was taken by another tourist, who asked if we were Australian too ... and was from Eltham.

Okay, I think we can safely say Zak is marvellous and you will be swamped with photos from now on. This technology is a continuous learning curve, especially when I don't have daughters or Sue close by to help.

  1. God bless Saint Zac! It's the first task of the day when I get to work - checking your blog for updates - when I see photos....well sometimes I settle in with a cup of coffee as well.

  2. Ditto Saint Zac. Do you think you could go back and re do the pictures that didn't appear??? Quite a few blogs ago. Now tell me what is the app that Saint Zac said you need. Hopefully you will share so I don't have to go to Manchester in search of the great man. Have just downloaded a good app called Camera+. Allows you to do some wonderful editing of your pictures. Look forward to traveling around Ireland with you next. Check out the mussels in Ireland too. Elisia had her first encounter with mussels in Bruge and said they were fab and then when she came to Ireland with us she had another kilogram (seems they way they do it) and said they were even better!!! Aaaaarh to be sure to be sure. Try and get to Gogartys in Dublin if you can. Went there on our first night and it was a truly memorable introduction to Ireland and its music. Keep those piccies coming! I can read your blogs in bed now and don't feel I am doing it in the middle of the night as it the mornings are getting lighter. Now that is a really good sign the winter is on the way out 😃😘
